Less Than Jake. Produced by Howard Benson, who had previously worked with the band on their third studio album, Hello Rockview, the album was preceded by the single "Overrated" and an EP of material recorded during the same sessions, entitled Absolution for Idiots and Addicts.

Reel Big Fish. This is the first Reel Big Fish studio album where the band line-up has not changed from the previous album. The album was mixed at Scream Studios by Tim Palmer. Fenix TX. The end of the album features seven blank tracks, each 22 seconds long, followed by a bonus track that starts after 22 seconds of Μη Μου Μιλάς Με Χείλη Που Καίνε - Γιώργος Μαργαρίτης - Εσύ Μιλάς Στην Καρδιά Μου, bringing the album to a total of 22 tracks.

To promote the album, the band made a music video for "Point the Blame", the album's first single. However, due to financial problems, the video was never completed.
